FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is Kioski?

Kioski runs self-service kiosks for staffed local businesses: a customer check-in tablet, a now-serving board and a staff queue, managed from one back office. The first experience is a walk-in queue for barbers.

What hardware do I need?

Any modern tablet with a web browser works for check-in, the now-serving board and the staff queue. A managed Android kiosk option with remote support is on the way.

How do I connect a tablet?

Open app.getkioski.com on the tablet. It shows a short code. Approve that code in the back office, choose the shop and whether the tablet is for customer check-in, staff, or the owner, and the tablet locks to that screen.

Can staff change settings from the kiosk?

No. A tablet only shows the screens for its role. Owner settings, staff and billing live in the back office, which needs a sign-in with multi-factor authentication.

Do customers need an account?

No. Customers join the queue with a first name or nickname. Bookings and loyalty are optional and separate from marketing consent.

What happens if the internet drops?

Screens keep showing what they last had, but new check-ins pause until the connection returns. Kioski never records business transactions offline.

Is my data kept in Australia?

Kioski is built for Australian businesses. It is hosted in Australia, customer details are kept to the minimum the queue needs, and voice audio is never stored.

Can I try it before I commit?

Yes. Start a pilot and we'll set up your shop with you. You can also explore the simulator without an account.
